Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh met the Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Radhamohan Singh at New Delhi today and expressed gratitude for granting permission to procure gram, red lentil and mustard on minimum support price.
Chouhan informed him that farmers are very joyous and jubilant after the increase in the minimum support price. He expressed gratitude towards the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Agriculture Minister for the decision taken in the interest of the farmers.
CM Chouhan has informed the Union Minister Singh that 19.16 lakh metric tonne gram, red lentil and mustard has been procured by the NAFED from the state. An amount of Rs. 5938 crore has been paid by the NAFED to the state government against the total payable amount of Rs. 8562 crore.
He urged that the balance payment of Rs. 2624 crore should be paid by the NAFED immediately to the procurement agencies of the state.
Moreover, Chouhan said that an expenditure of Rs. 800 crore approximately will be incurred to cover moong crop under the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana. He placed demand that equal amount i.e. 50-50 percent amount should be borne by the center and state under this scheme.
This will help farmers in getting scheme’s benefit on time, he added. Chouhan urged to approve procurement of soyabean, moong, arhar, groundnut, sesame etc of Kharif 2018 under price support scheme.
He told that by the end of September, the influx of soyabean, paddy, urad, maize will begin in Madhya Pradesh, the procurement of which will have to be done on time. For this Chief Minister Chouhan has urged to increase the Nafed credit limit by Rs 16 crores. In addition, he also demanded assistance by the centre to make arrangements of purchase and storage.
CM thanks Union Finance Minister for solving cash problem
CM Chouhan today met Union Finance Minister Piyuhsh Goyal at New Delhi and thanked him for solving the recent problem of cash in banks of the state. It may be noted that the recent shortage of cash in banks had become a problem for the public in general and the farmers in particular who were finding it difficult to draw money from the banks.
With the efforts of the Union Finance Minister Goyal, this problems of the banks of the state was solved.Chouhan told that adequate cash was now available in the banks. This has facilitated payment of benefits of the welfare schemes being run by the state government.
