The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Friday sought a counter affidavit from Madurai Kamaraj University in the plea filed against the Senate nomination of M. Anandakrishnan, former Vice-Chancellor of Anna University, to the VC search committee.
One of the Senate members, V. Kalaiselvan, moved the High Court Bench claiming that no election was held as per prescribed regulations for the nomination. The nomination was liable to be set aside, he said. Justice V. Parthiban, adjourned the case for further hearing.
Prof. Anandakrishnan was elected unopposed as the Senate nominee following the rejection of nomination of two candidates and withdrawal of another.
