Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara has said the State government would take steps to deport 107 African nationals staying illegally in the State.
Addressing presspersons in Mangaluru on Friday, Parameshwara, who is also the Home Minister, said the State government had started a campaign against drug abuse on campuses recently. During the drive, the State police identified 107 people from African countries staying in the State without valid papers.
Stating that these people either did not have visas or their visas had expired, he said the State government is making arrangements to send such people back to their home countries.
“We will arrange their tickets and inform the embassies and consulates concerned,” he said.
