LUCKNOW: In a fresh twist to the Rahul Sridhar case, a British medical forensic expert has claimed that the boy’s death was a case of homicide.

The claim by Jason Payne James, a renowned forensic expert, contradicts the police theory that the La Martiniere College student committed suicide. According to James, the nature of injuries leading to Rahul’s death pointed towards homicide. He also found several flaws in police’s collection of evidence. Rahul, a 15-year-old student of class IX, was found dead allegedly after falling from the 60-foot-high Constantia tower on the school campus on April 10, 2016.

Initially, police had closed the case terming it to be suicide. However, it had to reopen the case after the court's intervention. Investigation is on at present.

Because Rahul’s parents were not satisfied with the police investigation, they sent his postmortem examination report to James in London in December 2016.

James sent a 25-page report to the Sridhars on July 4. Rahul’ father Vishwanath Sridhar said, “We have approached the authorities and will continue to raise our voice for justice.”
