Transport Commissioner-cum-Secretary Varsha Joshi on Thursday paid a surprise visit to the Burari Transport authority she issued directions to further strengthen the access-control mechanism, said government sources.
Controversial question
Ms. Joshi made the visit prior to attending proceedings at the Legislative Assembly where an answer to a controversial question regarding complaints against the presence of touts at the facility was scheduled to be tabled.
Single access point
“As per directions issued by her earlier, the facility now has a single access point. She issued orders for the installation of a CCTV camera at the entry point,” the source said. Ms. Joshi, who also interacted with visitors, was mulling a mechanism to further streamline process at it and the creation of more kiosks to aid dissemination of information regarding processes and paperwork, the sources added.
