Police have rescued two tribal minor children from the Budha Pahar area. The girls had dared to flee from the Maoist squad. Police have started taking action in order to educate them and to provide them other facilities. In 2017, a group of Maoists had taken hostage a 12-year-old and another 15-year old girl from Jhaladera Tola of Burha Village. DIG Palamu, Vipul Shukla said in a press conference on Wednesday that they used to work as a bonded labourers there. They also used to serve the top Maoists by taking water, by carrying water. They were neither given good food nor the place for sleeping. If they did not work, they were assaulted, said the DIG.

Shukla strongly condemned the Maoists who exploited children by making them hostages. He said that they are enemies of society. “Naxalites are now leaving Budha Pahar fearing police action. They have started to wrap up all their belongings. Taking advantage of this, the children escaped from there and the police promptly reached there to provide them support. If the police were not active, then the Naxalites would retrieved them,” he informed.

Garhwa DC Neha Arora said that the Naxalites put obstruction in development work. “Where there is an atmosphere of fear there is no development work. The administration will fully cooperate with the people affected by extremism,’ she said. Garhwa SP Shivani Tiwari said that the incident of taking the children forcibly has exposed the real face of the Maoists. The DIG, DC, and SP gave textbooks and school bag to the girls and told them that they will be provided complete protection.
