Introducing Dr Love, who solves your relationship riddles in a confusing digital age
My friends want to meet my girlfriend, but I don't want to introduce her because they may say something nasty to her. What should I do?
Are they always like this? If so, why are you friends with them?
I think my girlfriend is cheating on me, but I have no way of proving it. She chats with a number of people, and never lets me see who she is chatting with because she is very secretive. She doesn't add me on Facebook because she says I am too intrusive and interested in what she is posting on her own page or on the pages of her friends. She doesn't give me her phone's password, even though she knows my password. She trusts me completely because she knows I love her and would never cheat on her, but doesn't trust me enough to share her own conversations with me. How do I prove that she is being unfaithful to me? I want to try and hack into her phone, but this may annoy her. Should I insist that she give me her password?
You have no real evidence of her cheating, if all you want to mention is her refusal to share her passwords with you. Your sharing of passwords doesn't necessarily mean she must do the same, because we each choose how much personal information we are comfortable sharing. Maybe she will at some point, when she is comfortable enough. As for Facebook, maybe she wants to keep some aspect of her social life private. This is something you should both talk about: Why does she feel you are being intrusive, what she would like you to do, and how she thinks she can learn to trust you more? Her conversations with other people do not imply cheating, because she is with you, not anyone else. Please put aside all ideas of hacking into someone's phone. Not only is it immoral, it is also illegal. Focus on honest and open communication with your girlfriend instead.
