Cops keep vigil at Ambala bus stand

AMBALA: With the Haryana Roadways staff going on a one-day strike, travellers had to struggle for means of transportation as about 60% of the general public in the state depends on roadways buses for commute. Heavy deployment of police force was seen at Ambala Cantonment bus stand to control the situation.
In the absence of Haryana Roadways buses, buses of Punjab Roadways, Chandigarh Transport Undertaking, Pepsu Roadways as well as private operators were seen commuting in Ambala.

The district administration had deployed police force, so that no union member interrupted running of buses from Ambala bus stand.

The passengers faced troubles in reaching their destinations. One of the passengers Sushil said, "I left home to go to Karnal and I have been waiting from the last one hour, but no buses of Haryana Roadways are going towards Karnal."

"Heavy police force has been deployed at Ambala Cantonment bus stand to control any untoward situation. At the moment everything is fine and no buses from other states have been interrupted by the Haryana Roadways Union members," said Bhushan Dass, in-charge of Parao police station.
