GURUGRAM: A week after an Islampur-based businessman was murdered by unidentified bikers, his family has allegedly received a death threat on Facebook. The family has been asked to cough up Rs 20 lakh by Sunday or face the consequences.
According to the complaint filed by Rahul, his businessman father Ram Karan was shot dead on July 31. “I received a message on Facebook on Monday, asking me to keep Rs 20 lakh ready. It further that a man would come to collect the money on Sunday and if we did not pay up, we would all be killed. I suspect my father’s killers to be behind this,” Rahul said.

An FIR was filed on Tuesday under Section 386 (extortion by putting a person in fear of death) of the IPC at Sadar police station. The family has been given police protection.
