Doon Lit Festival to be held from August 9 to 11

The second season of Dehradun Literature Festival being presented by Unison World School will be held from August 9 to 11. Noted writers and personalities from across the nation will be attending the festival here.

Announcing the festival, the co-curator Samraant Virmani said that the festival will be inaugurated with a session that will see Sadhguru in conversation with Ruskin Bond. Further talking about the festival, the Unison World School principal Veena Singh said, "We wish to give literary exposure to the students and the people of the city. We feel it is our responsibility to give back to the State and contribute to the education and literary segment of the society."

Revealing the celebrity line up of the authors, founder of Humans for Humanity and festival director Anurag Chauhan said, "We have invited Lillette Dubey, Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, Divya Dutta, Madhur Bhandarkar, Fouzia Dastango, Sudhir Chaudhary, Hansal Mehta, Soha Ali Khan, Sharmila Tagore and Soma Ghosh.”

Owner of Book World, Randhir Arora said, "We also have popular literary figures and local personalities like Shantanu Gupta, Jaskiran Chopra, Mona Verma, Deepak Ramola, Surendra Mohan Pathak, Roshan Dalal and ADG Ashok Kumar among several speakers who will be participating in the three-day festival."

The festival is open for the people of the city. The Governor and Chief Minister of the State among other dignitaries are also expected to attend the event.
