K Sneha Reddy, a student of Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad, has bagged a job offer from Google with a reported annual package of ₹1.20 crore.
Sneha, pursuing her BTech at the IIT-H, will be focussing on fundamental research in Artificial Intelligence.
This, however, is not through the regular placements of the institute. She cleared a few rounds of online discussions and interviews after she applied for a Google research project.
The IIT, however, has no official communication on the development. She reportedly rejected a job offer from another company during the placement season this year.
Sneha Reddy received a medal from President Ramnath Kovind on August 5 at the Convocation of the institute held at Kandi in Sangareddy district, where the institute is located. Meanwhile, the institute has registered placements of about 60 per cent of over 400 students registered for jobs. “Another 20 per cent opted for higher education,” an IIT executive said.
“We actually want our students pursue higher studies and take up research projects. This will help in building a research ecosystem,” he added.
