Ex-IPS officer’s husband held

MB Raju, the husband of former IPS officer Bharati Ghosh, was arrested on charges of keeping assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, moments after Calcutta High Court on Tuesday rejected his application for anticipatory bail.

Raju, who was arrested for not cooperating with the police was taken to the CID headquarters at Bhavani Bhavan for interrogation, sources said, adding that earlier seven rounds of interrogation had yielded no result.

The accused is charged with exchanging lakhs of rupees in lieu of gold from a shop at Midnapore district where his wife was posted as an SP for several years.
