Ola cabbie held for rape, murder

The Ghaziabad Police has arrested a cabbie who allegedly raped and murdered a five-year-old girl after consuming liquor and watching porn on mobile. The accused, who is a driver with Ola cab, after committing the dastardly act stuffed the victim’s body inside a gunny bag and then dumped it on the roof of a house in Khoda area. This sordid incident took place on August 2 and in bid to “mislead” the investigation the accused remained with the parents for two days on pretext of tracing the child.

Her parents had lodged a missing person’s complaint with the police and subsequently a case was registered under relevant section of law on the complaint of parents. Upon investigation it was found that the child was first raped and then strangulated. Her dead body was found wrapped in bag on the roof of the neighbor's house, stuffed in three bags one over the other.  The victim was allegedly wrapped in a cloth bag, which was stuffed in a gunny bag which in turn was kept inside a plastic bag, said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ghaziabad Vaibhav Krishna.

The girl went missing on 2 August and the tenant of the house was found missing a day later. However the police finally nabbed him few days after from Labour chowk in Khoda. Upon interrogation the accused confessed to his crime. Accused Davendra Thakur, who hails from Agra worked as a contract driver with Ola and Uber cabs own by a Baghpat resident. It was also found that his wife had gone to her parents about 15 days ago.

The accused told the police that on August 2, he consumed liquor and saw porn video on his mobile, meanwhile when the child came to his room he dragged the child and raped her. But when she started crying loudly, he allegedly killed her by strangulation and then wrapped her in a bag. For two days he remained with her parents and helping them to trace the child. But on August 3 onward he left the place and remained in Delhi.  Though he used to live with his wife and a year old son. Who had gone to her parents house in Mainpuri.  He didn't even  attend the Ist birthday of his son which falls on August 4. 

The police have booked under 363, 302, 201, 376 (a) (b) of IPC and section 5 (d) and 6 (d) of prevention of child from sexual offense  POCS) Act.  The police informed that the child was a student of LKG in Kunti Memorial Public school Adarsh Nagar Khoda while her father Mukesh works in a private company in Noida.
