Two from U’khand martyred in J& K

Uttarakhand lost two of its brave sons on Tuesday in the troubled Jammu and Kashmir. The martyred soldiers are Rifleman Hamir Singh Pokhariyal, a resident of Gumaniwala Shyampur, Rishikesh and Mandip Singh Rawat from Kotdwar.

According to the reports, the two were part of an operation in Gurej Sector of North Kashmir when troops of Indian Army engaged a group of infiltrators attempting to cross the Line of Control (LOC). In the fierce battle,  three soldiers and one Army Major lost their lives.

The family of Pokhariyal resides in Gumaniwala in Rishikesh. Incidentally, the father of the martyr Jayendra Singh Pokhariyal is a sub- inspector (SI) in Shashastra Seema Bal (SSB). The family of Mandip Singh Rawat resides in  Kotdwar town. The information about martyrdom of the soldiers was given to their family members by the military headquarters.

The news of the death left their family members and neighbours shocked. 

Chief Minister, Trivendra Singh Rawat condoled the death of the soldiers in Gurej sector in Jammu and Kashmir. In a message, Rawat said that the brave sons of Uttarakhand are always ready to sacrifice their lives to protect the motherland.
