A multi-drug research unit has been set up in Rewa. The unit has been started under the 5th Five-Year Plan of the Government of India. Different kinds of research projects are being implemented in the unit. As a result of study and research, diseases like diabetes can be controlled. Programmes related to heart along with nutrition has not been fully established in the country. Research is being conducted on the blood related and infrastructural and functional risk marker fixation of severely malnourished children through the unit. With this policy-based decision can be taken on the health of severely malnourished children.

Giving this information, the Director, Medical Education said that research is being conducted for treatment of patients suffering from Vitiligo hip fracture and congenital eye deformities in the unit. Study is being conducted on deciding the selection and dosage of medicines for the treatment of mental patients with psychotic symptoms.
