Digital India Prog vital for students: School Education Minister

School Education Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah has said that the World on Wheel will prove to be significant in the Digital India programme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and in imparting computer education to children, particularly students in schools in the rural areas. Kunwar Shah said this at the van’s dedication programme. He flagged off the van showing the green signal.

Kunwar Shah said that for digital education and to create awareness, the mobile computer lab will visit each school and from one place to another to create a positive environment for computer education. He said that information from all over the world is reaching from one place to another due to the changes taking place in the computers. Hence, computer education has become very essential. He expressed the hope that students along with the villagers will be given information related to the schemes through the World on Wheel.

Director, State Open School Education Board PR Tiwari told that the World on Wheel Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Hyderabad has made a mobile van available to Madhya Pradesh State Open School through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund. This bus has been prepared at a cost of about Rs one crore. This van will reach different areas of Madhya Pradesh in the coming four years. This van will provide computer education to the students in Higher Secondary and High School premises. As many as 20 computers are kept in the mobile computer lab. Solar panels installed in the van ensure continuous supply of electricity in the lab.

On the special characteristics of the van, Tiwari told that it has video conferencing facility also so that students can be directly connected to the experts. The villagers will be given health, agriculture and rural development related information through the mobile van. The van also has facilities of aadhar card registration and upgradation. Hanif Mewati of Entrepreneruship Development Institute of India told that 40 mobile computer labs have been made available for the spread of computer education all over the country. More than 16 thousand students will be given computer education every year through the mobile van in the state.
