Dombivli youths kidnapped in Malaysia rescued by police

KALYAN: The Malaysian police have rescued two Dombivli youth from the kidnappers and they are now at Malaysian police custody, who would be released after investigations. The Malaysian police are probing into matter, Thane police has said. A Dombivli based Vaidya family had booked a complaint on August 4, with Ram Nagar Police station in Dombivli.

Rohan Vaidya 36, Kaustubh Vaidya 31, were allegedly kidnapped when they bagged a bulk order from Malaysia. On August 1, they were travelling from Mumbai Airport to Malaysia for their business deal of fish,meat items with a Malaysia-based company Miss Lee Frozen Food. On August 2, their meeting was held and the deal was a success.

According to police, the two landed at Malasiya on August 1 and were in touch until the next day when suddenly on August 3, they called on their father Prakash’s phone and informed him that they had been kidnapped and that the kidnappers were demanding Rs 1 crore as ransom to release them. DCP Deepak Devraj, Thane Crime branch said, “Both are safe and are now Malaysia’s police custody, who are probing the case”.
