Police arrest two accused for thefts in City

Ranchi Police have arrested two persons who were involved in several theft cases in the State Capital including stealing of mobile phones worth several lakhs rupees from a shop under the Bariatu police station area.

Over five dozens mobile phones and other materials including LED televisions, bikes and video players have been recovered from them.

The accused Md Mukhtar and Md Wasim were arrested after a chase in the Kijurtoili area of the city early on Tuesday morning. 

One accomplice identified as Raja Bangali managed to escape from the spot.

Addressing media person Ranchi, SSP, Anish Gupta, said that police recovered a loaded pistol from Mukhtar’s possession during frisking. He has confessied his involvement in stealing of mobile phone, invertors and other accessories from Jagdamba Mobile shop in Bariatu  last Monday.

The stolen valuable were recovered from house of his relatives in the Kijur Toli. 

Some of the mobile phones were also recovered. The accused were also booked in different cases lodged with Jagannathpur, Sadar and Nagri police station areas.  It may be stated here that Ranchi SP had formed a team under Sadar DSP Deepak Kumar Pandey to handle the case.
