The monsoon session of the Uttar Pradesh legislature will start from August 23 in which the Yogi Adityanath government will bring supplementary budget, seeking more funds for the development projects it has initiated in the recent past.

Governor Ram Naik has given his assent to the government’s request for convening the monsoon session.

Sources said that this would be an almost one-week session in which Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath would seek supplementary grants for carrying forward the development scheme launched by the government.

Many ordinances, like the one banning use of polythene and plastic less than 50 micron in thickness, will also get the legislature’s approval during this session, the official said.

The last session — Budget session — was convened on February 8. The Vidhan Sabha was adjourned sine die on March 27 while the Vidhan Parishad was adjourned sine die a day later on March 28.
