Class IV student sexually assaulted by school mates

A class IV student of a private school located in East Delhi’s Vivek Vihar area was allegedly sexually assaulted by his school mates.

“The incident happened in the last week of July. The student narrated the incidents to his mother on Monday, following which a complaint was lodged at Vivek Vihar police station,” said Meghna Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Shahdara district.

According to the complaint, when the victim would take his seat in the school bus after the school, the three boys, who also are minors, would come and force them upon him and touch him inappropriately. “The student has also narrated the act to the school teacher travelling in same school bus but he did not take it seriously,” said a police official.  

The police said that the victim told them that there have been several instances where these three accused have harassed him in a same way.

According to complaint filed by parents, they has approached school administration regarding the issue but the school administration tried to hush-up the issue and closed the matter without any action against the three accused. 

Police has registered the complaint under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and are investigating the matter, the DCP said.
