KANPUR: A 25-year-old woman was strangled to death while her three minor daughters were allegedly killed after being thrown from the fourth floor of the building in Kanshiram
Colony in
Etawah district on Tuesday morning.
SSP Ashok Kumar Tripathi reached the spot along with dog squad and forensic team. A case has been lodged against unidentified persons.
According to the police, the preliminary findings revealed that the woman identified as Neha was strangled to death while her three minor daughters Tulsi (7), Moni (5) and Kallo (2) died after they were allegedly thrown from the fourth floor in Kanshiram colony at Rahatpura area of the city. “However, we are still awaiting for postmortem report before jumping to any conclusion,” said a police official.
The police suspect someone known to the victims killed them as, till now, there is no evidence of a forced entry into the house.
The woman’s husband Chotey Lal Jatav, native of Kunara, is an
omelette vendor. He was not present in the house at the time of crime and returned home on Tuesday morning. He is in custody and is being questioned.
“While the woman’s body was recovered from her house, her three minor daughters were found lying dead close to a pond, near the boundary wall of Kanshiram colony in Rahatpura locality. The woman along with her husband and their three minor daughters used to live in room number 334 in block 21 of Kanshiram Colony in Rahatpura since past few years. She also used to assist her husband in running omelette vend in the area. The couple was spotted last time at around 10.15pm on Monday while they were leaving for their home from their omelette vend,” said SSP Ashok Kumar Tripathi.
The locals said that they rushed towards Chhotey’s house after coming across the bodies of three minor girls only to find the body of his wife lying in a room of the house.
