HP Gov doesn't want to be addressed as 'His Excellency', 'Mahamhim'

As per directions issued by Acharya Devvrat, the phrase 'His Excellency' or 'Mahamhim' will no longer be used as a while addressing him.

Instead of using 'His ' or its Hindi synonym 'Mahamhim', the words 'The Governor' or 'Rajyapal Mahodya' may be used and 'ji' may be used in government remarks, Dr Arun Sharma, to the Governor, said in a press release issued here today.

A notification in this regard has been issued by the Raj Bhavan, he said.

While no reason has been mentioned in the release, it is understood that the wants to discontinue the tradition set during the British rule.
