Meizu 16 and Meizu 16 Plus smartphones with in-display fingerprint sensor launched

NEW DELHI: Chinese smartphone maker Meizu has expanded its product portfolio with the launch of Meizu 16 and Meizu 16 Plus. Both the devices will go on sale in China starting August 16. The Meizu 16 comes with a starting price tag of 2698 yuan, while the price of Meizu 16 Plus starts at 3198 yuan.
Specifications
Meizu 16 and Meizu 16 Plus feature a 6-inch full HD+ display with 1080x2160 pixel resolution. The display is protected with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass on top. Both devices run Android 8.0 Oreo operating system topped with company own layer of customisation Flyme OS.
The duo is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM. The Meizu 16 comes in two internal storage variants -- 64GB and 128GB. On the other hand, the Meizu 16 Plus also comes in two storage versions -- 128GB and 256GB.
The smartphones come with custom copper cooling tube and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The company claims that fingerprint sensor has high recognition on 99.12%.
The device come with dual rear camera setup. The rear of the handsets house 12MP main camera with Sony IMX380 sensor with f/1.8 aperture and secondary 20MP telephoto lens with Sony IMX350 sensor for portrait shots. There is also a 20MP front shooter with AI beauty recognition and face unlock feature.
The Meizu 16 is backed by a 3010mAh battery, whereas the Meizu 16 Plus houses a 3500mAh battery. The devices also support 24W mCharge flash charge technology.
In terms of connectivity, both the smartphones offer 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type C.
