FOXBORO – Before the sky opened up and the downpour started, Tom Brady received an extended look during the Patriots’ eleventh day of training camp.

Brady’s had a light practice in each of the last three practice sessions. On Wednesday, however, the quarterback started practice off with two series of 11-on-11s. The first session was a split between the rush and pass, but Brady picked it up in the final session and finished 8-of-10.

Brady completed three passes to Rob Gronkowski and the rest to Jacob Hollister, Chris Hogan, Phillip Dorsett, Riley McCarron and Julian Edelman. Brady’s first throw to Eric Decker in this setting fell incomplete as the receiver dropped the pass.

Brady’s workload could single that the quarterback won’t suit up during Thursday’s preseason opener against the Washington Redskins.

Brian Hoyer finished 7/10 and Danny Etling went 12/18 as the rain put a damper on the tempo at practice. Due to the conditions, the final session saw multiple dropped passes. Along with Decker, Braxton Berrios and Mike Gillislee all had drops. Jeremy Hill fumbled for the second day of practice. Will Tye also had a fumble.

Damarius Travis intercepted Etling in the end zone. The undrafted safety has had a solid camp. JC Jackson and Duke Dawson both had pass breakups.

On the injury front, Rex Burkhead left practice early, departing to the lower field where he could be seen running with the rehabbing players. The Patriots were without Sony Michel, Marcus Cannon, Harvey Langi and Brian Schwenke at practice. Limited at practice were Trey Flowers, Matthew Slater, Kenny Britt, Nate Ebner and Jonathan Jones. Jason King returned to practice, but he was also limited.

Cyrus Jones was also limited, but he received extended work as a punt returner.
