LUDHIANA: Taking forward the drive against drugs, Khanna police district have started a ‘Drug Information and Rehabilitation’ helpline. Khanna SSP Dhruv Dahiya informed that helpline number 95929-13600 would remain operational all the time, and any person having any information about drugs could contact the police.
He said ever since he joined his duty at Khanna, he had been actively spearheading a drive against drugs. He said to empower police-public interaction, a
Facebook page and a
Twitter handle called ‘Khanna Police’ have been started, where — besides details of the daily activities of Khanna police — a large number of people give their suggestions.
The SSP further informed that the helpline had been set up at the Khanna Police Control Room, and two officials would remain there on duty round the clock. He said any person having any information about drug smugglers, persons needing help to send a drug addict to a rehabilitation centre, drug addicts seeking police help for treatment, or anyone wanting any other kind of help related to drugs, can contact the helpline number.
Dahiya informed that the name of the person giving any information would be kept a secret, and any social organization or NGO wanting to contribute in the war against drugs, could also contact the helpline.
