PV Sindhu has been one the strongest badminton player over the last one year. She was able to reach the finals of five major tournaments including the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia. However, because of her form in the finals she has earned a little criticism from both experts and fans.
At this year’s World Championships Sindhu finished second after she lost to Olympic champion Carolina Marin in the title clash. It was her second defeat in the summit clash as she had lost an epic final against Okuhara at Glasgow last year. In 2018, she had to settle for silver after getting defeated by Saina Nehwal in the final at the Commonwealth Games.
However, Sindhu believes that the criticism is not justified, she took to social media to hit back at her critics after winning silver at the Badminton World Championships.
In the Instagram post, Sindhu posed with her silver medal which read: “Never give up, never give in, and when the upper hand is ours, may we have the ability to handle the win with the dignity that we absorbed the loss”
She also added: “It brings me immense amount of pleasure to bring back the silver consecutively 2nd year in the BWF world championships. I didn’t lose the gold, I won the silver and I can proudly say my silver sparkles.”
“It was indeed a wonderful week in Nanjing, in spite of losing in the finals I had some great matches. I have been really happy about my consistent performance over the rankings. I believe that patience and persistence make unbeatable combination for success, hence have complete faith that my gold shall come soon!! It’s amazing how I have received so much love and support from people all around the world, and that keeps me going!,” she added.
PV Sindhu will be seen in the Asian Games in Jakarta and she will hope to win gold this time.
