The district officials were asked to improve the condition of the government school at Nagaram village within a week. Taking part in Haritha Haram at the school in Parkal mandal, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari said the State government was spending ₹1 crore annually on the school, but the infrastructure was not upto the mark. “Besides the school premises, the approach road is also in a bad state and should be improved. I want the local revenue officials to ensure this in a week,” he said.
Enrolment rate
The teachers, on the other hand, were asked to improve the enrolment rate of children at the school as it has the capacity to absorb more.
“We have been trying to bring in efficiency in the Education Department. The Chief Minister’s dream of Bangaru Telangana will be possible if things improved in government institutions,” he pointed out.
Later, the Deputy Chief Minister distributed insurance bonds to farmers at a public meeting and said the State government kept its promise of waiving farmers’ loans to the tune of ₹17,000 crore.
That apart, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao took up revision of all land records only to help farmers. In Warangal rural district, as many as 94,486 farmers received insurance bonds, while in Parkal mandal, a total of 8,262 farmers registered their names for the insurance scheme.
“In case of the death of a farmer, the LIC will pay ₹5 lakh within ten days,” he said distributing insurance bonds to 355 farmers at Nagaram village.
Farmers’ welfare
Parkal MLA Challa Dharma Reddy said most of the welfare and development programmes of the State government were aimed at farmers’ welfare in Telangana. “Be it Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bheema or the ongoing irrigation projects, they all help farmers in the State,” he said.
