Metro-route hurdles to be resolved soon

Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, The authorities have claimed that hurdles in the route of the metro train would be removed soon. The first route of the metro train would be from Karond to AIIMS. Its length would be 15 km and it would have 16 stations.

The metro train route 1 would pass through Karond Square, Bhopal Talkies, Bogda Pul, Subhash Nagar Underbridge, DB Mall, Board Office Square, Habibganj Naka, Alkapuri Bus Stand before reaching AIIMS.

The second metro train line is 8.65 km long from Bhadbhada, Depot Square, Jawahar Chowk, Roshanpura Square, Lily Talkies, Jinsi Depot, Bogda Pul, Prabhat Chauraha, Apsara Talkies, Govindpura Industrial area before reaching JK Road.

The planned Metro in Bhopal is a light metro system.[4] This system consists of a Network of 123.62 km and with lines overlapping and branching.

Works to be completed

1. Removing Alkapuri jhuggis

2. Shifting petrol pump near Sargam Cinema

3. Removing jhuggis from Subhash Underbridge to Bogda Pul.

Rs 6980 crore for first phase

A total budget of Rs 6980 crore has been sanctioned for the first route of the metro. The budget of other routes has not been decided yet. A total of 66.95 acre land has been allotted for the first route of the metro. Claims and objections in this regard have been sought and can be filed in 15 days.
