Weather Update: Cold weather persists over most of SA

Temperatures are expected to remain cold in most parts of the country, including the central interior on Wednesday.

Very isolated showers and thundershowers are expected over the southwestern Highveld in the evening.

Minimum temperatures are expected to be cool to cold across the country with below-freezing conditions over the central interior.

The coldest place is expected to be Bloemfontein in the Free State, dropping to a below-freezing -6°C.

Maximum temperatures remain cold over most of the central and southern parts of the country and cool conditions are expected along the East Coast.

Gauteng and the northern border, including the Musina and Lephalale regions, are expected to experience warmer weather.

The warmest place is expected to be Lephalale in Limpopo, reaching a high of 30°C.

Pretoria is expected to reach a high of 28°C, while Johannesburg is expected to reach a maximum of 26°C. Bloemfontein is expected to reach a high of 14°C.

Along the coast, Cape Town is expected to reach a maximum of 15°C, Port Elizabeth a high of 16°C and Durban 19°C.
