FALL RIVER – With a knife wound in his side, a man summoned help at the door to St. Anne’s Hospital Monday night.

He survived. A second man was arrested for the stabbing before the night was over, police report.

Officers were called to St. Anne’s at 11 p.m. by medical personnel who were treating an adult male with a stab wound.

The man had been dropped off at the entrance to the hospital, police report.

“The victim had injuries that do not appear to be life threatening,” said Police Lt. David Gouveia. “MCD (Major Crimes Division) was called in. They made one arrest.”

The person arrested was another adult male, Gouveia said.

The case was still an active investigation early Tuesday morning, Gouveia said.

Police have not yet identified either the person stabbed or the person arrested.
