Bhopal: Upset over family members’ harassment, younger brothers kills elder brother

Bhopal: Gunga police have nabbed 55-year-old Hari Singh for killing his 80-year-old elder brother Pappu Pal in Sukliya village.  Police investigation revealed that Pappu’s younger brother Hari killed him as he was upset with continued harassment of family members by the deceased.

Evidences and statements by grandson of deceased Hemant Pal and son of deceased Pappu Lal helped police in cracking the case. Sub-Inspector Sahab Singh Ivne said that the Hari Singh had confirmed that the deceased used to abuse and harass whole family including him and women for past several years.

Ivne said, “He was counseled on numerous occasions not to abuse and harass family members. However on one occasion under the fit of rage due to frustration the accused hit him and strangulated him to death and later hanged him.”

After committing murder Hari burnt the shirt which got stained with blood while he punched the deceased before strangulating him. Pappu was found hanging at his house on August 3 in the morning by family member. Police sent the body for post mortem and initially booked a case under sections 302 and 201 of IPC.
