9-year-old boy molested by seniors in school bus in Delhi: Police

A nine-year-old student of a private school was allegedly molested by his seniors thrice in their school bus in Delhi, police said on Tuesday.

A case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Additional deputy commissioner of police, Shahdara, Ved Prakash Surya said the incident happened in east Delhi’s Vivek Vihar.

The victim, he said, has complained that three of his seniors harassed him. The three accused are students of Classes 7, 8 and 10.

“The kid has alleged that he was touched inappropriately and molested by his seniors on three days – July 27, July 30, and on August 1 – while going back home in the school bus.

“They used to take him to the back of the bus and touch his private parts,” Surya said.

He said the kid was traumatized by their behaviour and had locked himself in a room.

“After he revealed the incidents to his mother, she filed a police complaint on Monday evening,” the police officer said, adding that an investigation is on.
