Special court for speedy trial

The Patna High Court has agreed to monitor the CBI inquiry into the rape of about 34 minor girls at Balika Grih shelter home at Muzaffarpur. Outgoing Chief justice Rajender Menon while hearing a petition accepted the request of Advocate General Lalit Kishor on Monday and said special court would be designated for speedy trial of the case. The Chief Justice also directed the CBI officials to submit the case related documents.

After the CBI probe recommended by the Bihar Government, the Opposition had demanded monitoring of inquiry by the court and CM Nitish Kumar had expressed his agreement to request the court.
