Ram Nath Kovind returns to national capital

Concluding his two-day visit to the State, President Ram Nath Kovind returned to the national capital on Tuesday.

Governor P. Sathasivam, Minister V.S. Sunil Kumar, and Vice Admiral Anilkumar Chawla were among those present to see off the President.

Earlier in the day, the President had breakfast with the judges of the Kerala High Court. Mr. Sathasivam and Kerala High Court Chief Justice Hrishikesh Roy received Mr. Kovind.

N. Anilkumar, Registrar General of the Kerala High Court, introduced the judges to the President. State Police Chief Loknath Behera, Principal Government Secretary Biswanath Sinha, and District Collector K. Muhamaed Y Safarulla were present.

Meanwhile, Kochi Mayor Soumini Jain wrote to the President expressing dismay at being denied an opportunity to meet him during the Kochi visit “on account of non-observance of protocol ethics”.

Ms. Jain felt it unfortunate “that the Mayor of Kochi was not asked to be present to pay respect to the President of India.”

She also sought an appointment with the President to convey him the greetings of the city and its people.
