Karnataka: Noted writer Sumatheendra Nadig passes away
BENGALURU: Noted modern poet and writer Sumatheendra Nadig, 83, passed away at a private hospital on Bannerghatta Road on Tuesday morning.

A well known Indian professor and writer, Nadig was a close associate of poet Gopalakrishna Adiga, who spearheaded the modernist movement in Kannada literature. Nadig was a prominent poet in the 1960s. He was also known for his translation works.

A collection of verses - such as ‘Dampatya Geethe’ and ‘Panchabhootagalu - is among some of his creations, much appreciated in the literary circles.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.
