Tourism is in agreement with national and international politics like no other. Tourists are one of the key sources of foreign exchange, governments endorse themselves through visitors, and politicians frequently tense about the social freedom that tourism can care for. Because of this, tourists are both courted and scapegoated.
At the most basic level, tourism is considered as an export industry. It is a source of foreign currency and can assist to prop up a nation economically.
Nevertheless, locals frequently see few of the profits of hosting tourists. Large companies generally control much of the tourism sector. These often pay little in the way of local taxes. In the meantime, locals shoulder the burden of sharing their space and facilities with visitors.
Few native people have requested the international tourists to stay away. They have fought on the ground that tourism is intimidating their culture, damaging the ecosystem of their country, and is a form of colonialism. In Hawaii, efforts are being made to settle down some of the issues arising from the tourism industry over-exploiting an open and hospitable native culture.
