Late actress Jessica Falkholt’s final work to be released in October

The final work of Jessica Falkholt, who died in a Boxing Day car crash with her family last year, will be released on October 4.

Harmony, a thriller by local writer and director Corny Pearson, sees Falkholt playing the titular character, Harmony, a "super-empath" who can "absorb the fear of others".

The first chapter in what's being called the Five Frequencies saga, Harmony is described as "a supernatural story about the universal balance between the emotions of fear and love," with Jerome Meyer, Jacqueline Mackenzie and Eamon Farren starring alongside Falkholt.

Falkholt's extended family has seen the film and given their blessings to the creators and distributors, describing it as Falkholt's "enduring legacy".

"All involved with this film have been utterly devastated by the passing of its lead actress Jessica Falkholt, who plays Harmony, in the Boxing Day crash last year," a statement from the film's spokesperson said.

"Her large extended family are immensely supportive of this film and see it as her enduring legacy, so wish it to have as wide a release as possible around Australia and the world.

"They have written a dedication at the end of the film and we are working with them to set up a Falkholt Foundation."

Harmony wrapped filming last year, just a few months before Falkholt and her immediate family were killed in a fiery collision on the Princes Highway at Mondayong on the NSW South Coast.

Falkholt's mum Vivian and dad, Lars, were killed instantly, while her sister Annabelle, 21, died in hospital three days after the crash. Falkholt, 28, passed away in hospital three weeks later.

Harmony will be in cinemas on October 4.
