C’garh Guv sanctions Rs 2.5L to Sainik Welfare Fund

There will be no shortage of funds for the welfare of jawans and their families, Governor Balramji Das Tandon assured the Armed Forces personnel on Monday.

He was addressing a gathering of Sainik Welfare Board organized Amalgamated Special Fund's state's Management Committee meet at Raj Bhawan. He also announced grants of Rs 2.5 lakh to the Sainik Welfare Fund.

Tandon said that the welfare of the Ex-Servicemen and the funds allocated to their families will inspire the jawans still in service and serving the motherland with dedication and valour.

Several important decisions for the welfare of ex-servicemen were taken in meeting. The ceiling of Rs 6 lakh income was raised to Rs 8 lakh for the financial assistance for Ex-Servicemen from the Amalgamated Special Fund. The fiscal assistance for the weddings of daughters of Ex-Servicemen was hiked to Rs 51,000 from earlier Rs 31,000.

Second World War veterans’ medical assistance has been hiked to Rs 3000 from the earlier Rs 1000. Financial help will be provided to the Special Needs of children/specially abled children of Ex-servicemen to the tune of Rs 1500 even when the parents are alive. Earlier, the assistance had been given after the demise of both the parents. Disabled former sainiks will be provided with monetary help for modified scooter replacement also.

Kulkarni, Financial Advisor N. K. Chandrawanshi, Deputy secretary Mrs. Roktima Yadav, Colonel (Retd.) K. L. Yadav and social worker Sudha Saxena were present.

Governors' Trophy was presented to Raipur and Durg districts for maximum collections for the Flag Day Fund respectively.
