Well-known Kannada poet and critic Sumatheendra R. Nadig passed away early on Tuesday morning in Bengaluru.
The 83-year-old writer was an important name in the modernist literary movement in Karnataka in the 60s and 70s. He also headed the National Book Trust in the 90s.
His important works include ‘Daampatya Geeta’ and ‘Panchabhoota’, collection of verses, besides critical works on Da.Ra. Bendre and Gopalakrishna Adiga.
