KANPUR: A 25-year-old woman and her three minor daughters were found dead under highly mysterious circumstances in Etawah district on Tuesday morning.
Police said going by the preliminary findings, the woman identified as Neha was strangled to death while her three minor daughters Tulsi (7), Moni (5) and Kallo (2) died after being flung from their fourth-storey house in Kanshiram colony at Rahatpura area of the City.
Police officials suspect that someone known to the victims might have killed them, since, till now, there is no evidence of a forced entry into the house.

Woman's husband Chotey Lal Jatav, an Omlette vendor, was not present in the house. He had returned home from somewhere only on Tuesday morning.

A senior Police official meanwhile said locals informed the Police Control room on Tuesday morning about the recovery of the dead bodies of the woman and her three minor daughters.

"While woman's body was recovered from her room, her three minor daughters were found lying dead close to a pond, near the boundary wall of Kanshiram colony in Rahatpura locality. The woman along with her husband and their three minor daughters used to live at room no: 334 in block no: 2 of the Kanshiram colony in Rahatpura since the past few years. She also used to assist her husband in running an Omlette vend in the area. The couple was spotted last time at around 10.15 pm on Monday while they were leaving for their home from their Omlette vend," said SSP Ashok Kumar Tripathi.

As per the police, the locals said they immediately rushed towards the house of Chotey after coming across the dead bodies of three minor daughters, only to discovered the dead body of his wife lying in one of the rooms of the house.
SSP further said the nature of the wounds on the bodies of minor kids suggested that they died after they were apparently thrown from the highrise building while the woman died possibly due to strangulation.

The police took woman's husband into its custody and are further interrogating him regarding his last location prior to the incident. The bodies of the victims have been shifted to district hospital mortuary for postmortem examination. However, the police denied of any kind of sexual assault on the victims.

The police later registered a case against unknown accused and started investigation.
