Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2018 to end on Aug 31

Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2018, a survey commissioned by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation to rank all districts in India on the basis of various sanitation (Swachhata) parameters, has begun in the district.

Nationwide survey

Launched as part of the on-going Swachh Bharat Mission, the survey will cover 6,980 villages in 698 districts across India and the top performers will be given awards at a function in Delhi during Gandhi Jayanti celebrations.

Availability of sanitation services, usage of assets and the status of littering and stagnant water in public places will be monitored as part of the survey.

Inspection of public places such as schools, anganwadis, primary health centres, markets, along with citizen’s perception of Swachhata and their recommendations, will be the key factors influencing the evaluation process. Feedback will be collected through community meetings, personal interviews, and focussed group discussions.

The district administration has urged the public to actively participate in the survey while all department heads and block/village panchayat presidents have been instructed to take necessary steps to ensure rural cleanliness.

The public could provide their feedback through web or by downloading SSG 18, a mobile application designed for the purpose, from Google Play. Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2018 survey concludes on August 31.
