Caught stealing bike, 2 robbers pelt stones at ASI

Alert Delhi Police Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Amar Singh deployed on a Police Control Room (PCR) van nabbed two auto thieves who were allegedly trying to steal a motor cycle. At the same time  Singh was attacked by one of the thieves and sustained grievous injuries on his head and eyes as one of the accused started throwing stones on the PCR staff.

The accused duo was identified as Sunny and Shah Khan. They were intercepted by the PCR personnel from Mukand pur chowk while trying to flee the scene. On Sunday at around 2:30 am, a PCR Call was received about two boys carrying a motor cycle under suspicious circumstances. Police rushed to the spot and when the boys saw them, they tried to flee the spot," Deputy Commissioner of Police (PCR) S D Mishra said.

Mishra said, "Head Constable Ishwar Daya managed to overpower one of the accused. His accomplice, however, started throwing stones at the staff and ASI Amar Singh sustained injuries on his face and eyes."

"HC Ishwer Daya and ASI Amar Singh who are instrumental in apprehending the accused are being suitably rewarded for exemplary courage and devotion towards their duty," DCP said.  An FIR has been registered against the accused in Burari Police Station. The injured ASI Amar singh was taken to Guru Nanak Hospital, he said.
