‘Chalo Gaon Ki Or’ to promote Agri Graduate Entrepreneurs: Brijmohan

Citing that the Chhattisgarh Government has made a pro-farmer budget outlay of Rs 86,096 crore this fiscal year, the Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources Brijmohan Agrawal said the state government is committed to fulfill the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of doubling the farmer’s income.

Agrawal was addressing Rs Krishak Goshthi’, a symposium for farmers held here at Indira Gandhi Agriculture University Auditorium under aegis of Dhanuka Agritech. The symposium highlighted various approaches for doubling farmer’s income to support the Prime Minister’s vision of achieving this target by 2022.

While addressing the symposium Agrawal made an appeal to farmers of the state to use modern farming techniques for increasing their crop yield. “The government had taken many initiatives for strengthening agriculture sector and help to double the income of farmers”, he said. Agrawal further informed that for promotion of agricultural graduates to become entrepreneurs a new scheme called “Chalo Gaun Ki Or” (Let’s move to villages) through agriculture university would be launched for transforming the technology to farm field.

RG Agarwal of Dhanuka Agritech said that they are committed towards farmer’s progress and such events at regular intervals are organised to understand the grass root level problems of farmers. It helps to provide better solutions to them and enhance their livelihood. He appreciated the work done by Chhattisgarh Government and Agriculture Minister for farmer welfare and agricultural development in state.

More than 600 progressive farmers from various parts of state took part in the event and were benefited with the ideas shared in symposium. These farmers were also felicitated for improving crop yield through modern technologies and were also provided farmers with safety kits.

The symposium highlighted DKKNT (Dhanuka Kheti Ki Nai Takneek), which is focused on providing end-to-end farming solutions through training and educating farmers. Under this approach, it is aimed to minimize crop losses and improve yield with a focus on implementation processes such as soil test for maintaining soil health, crop insurance, use of hybrid seeds, judicious use of agrochemicals, saving water etc.
