The Dabolim airport police, on Sunday, registered offences against Nerry D’Souza for allegedly obstructing a lady police sub-inspector attached to the Dabolim airport traffic cell, while discharging her lawful duty and for insulting her modesty.

The police informed that the accused, who was driving Mahindra Thar jeep, bearing registration no-GA-03-R-4988 was stopped at the arrival gate of the Dabolim airport after his vehicle was found to have tinted glasses, by the lady police sub-inspector, and so she issued a challan for violating the Motor Vehicle Act and further asked him to produce the documents.

As the driver of the jeep started arguing with her, a traffic police constable clicked photographs using his cell phone. The accused, however, tried to snatch the cell phone from the traffic police constable and further used filthy language, added the police.

The lady police sub-inspector later lodged a complaint with the Dabolim airport police; offences under sections 353 and 509 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) stand registered against the accused.

Police sub-inspector Pritesh Govekar is further investigating the case, under the supervision of Dabolim airport police inspector Shailesh Narvekar.
