Das leads Bangladesh to T20 series triumph

Electing to bat first in the third T20, which also served as the decider with the series tied 1-1, Bangladesh scored 184 for five in their 20 overs, with Liton Das leading their innings with a 32-ball 61.

Andre Russell came up with some big-hitting in his 21-ball 47, but when he was dismissed in the first ball of the 18th over, it was almost curtains for West Indies. It did, in fact, turn out to be the end of the match as rain prevented further play, handing Bangladesh a 19-run victory by the DLS method and a 2-1 series win.

Zverev, Kuznetsova win at Washington

Alexander Zverev successfully defended his title as a 6-2 6-4 victory against Alex de Mianur in the final handed him the Citi Open title.

It wasn’t that easy for Svetlana Kuznetsova in the women’s section, as she had to fight off four match points on her way to a 4-6 7-6(7) 6-2 victory against Donna Vekic to claim her 18th career title.

At San Jose, 30-year-old Romanian Mihaela Buzarnescu won her first career title when she defeated Maria Sakkari 6-1 6-0 in the final of the US Open hard-court tune-up event.
