Many roads and localities in Dehradun were waterlogged due to consistent rainfall on the weekend. However, after nearly two days of rain, surprisingly, the flood control cell of the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun received only 11 complaints regarding waterlogging till Sunday evening.

In order to tackle the water logging problem in the city, disaster and flood control cell was formed by the MCD which is operated 24 hours by the team members. The cell also keeps a record of the complaints and problems which have been resolved by the team. The in-charge of the cell informed that only 11 complaints in total had been filed on Saturday-Sunday. Most of the complaints had been resolved by the municipal team.

Adding in this, the in-charge said, “Our team is regularly working in the city. We have around three teams which are working in shifts which have 13 to 14 members in total. The shift works from morning 6 am to 2 pm then from 2 pm to 10 pm and 10 pm to 6 am. We have one trolley and one dumper working. About 11 complaints were registered so far in which almost every complains has been resolved by us. If we get any call about waterlogging, the team is given the direction to reach the spot and help the people.”
