MUMBAI: To allow colleges to plan their academic calendar, Mumbai University, on Friday, announced the commencement dates of all the winter exams. The university is set to conduct around 661 exams this winter, including the first and second year exams, which are conducted a college level. Some of the university exams, including semester V exams for BA and other self-financed programmes such as the BMS, BAF, BFM, BBI and BMM even fall during the Diwali vacations.

The semester V exams for final year B Com students is set to commence on October 24, for B Sc it starts on October 30, and for BA students, the exam is on November 13. Most of the self-financed professional exams such as BAF, BBI, BFM and others start on November 19. Since the academic session was delayed by almost a month in city colleges, the university has scheduled the first-year exams for BA, B Com and B Sc to start post vacation from November 28. Second-year exams, however, starts before Diwali vacation from October 24. "The university will ensure that there are no clashes with any professional exams this term," said an official from the examination section. The clash with the Diwali vacation, however, is unavoidable since 2016, after the university started centrally conducting exams for first and second year students too, added the official.
