Honor Play with Kirin 970 processor and 6.29-inch FHD+ display launched in India

Huawei sub-brand Honor has launched the Honor Play smartphone in India. The smartphone boasts of Artificial Intelligence processor with company's flagship Kirin 970 SoC.
Honor Play price and availability
The Honor Play comes at a starting price of Rs 19,999. This base variant offers 4GB RAM. The other variant comes with 6GB RAM and costs Rs 23,999. Both variants offer 64GB internal storage.
The Honor Play will be exclusively available on Amazon India website starting today at 4 pm. Vodafone has an offer through which users will get 120 GB of free data for a period of 12 months to the customers buying the Honor Play. Prepaid customers need to do a recharge of Rs 199 or above to get this data. As for the postpaid users, they can get this data in the form of 10GB per month additional data, valid for 12 months with Rs 399 recharge or higher.
Honor Play specifications
In terms of specifications, the Honor Play sports a 6.29-inch screen of FHD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It comes with a notch on the top.
It is available in two colour options -- Midnight Black and Navy Blue and runs on EMUI 8.2 based on Android 8.1 out-of-the-box.
Powered by company's own octa-core Kirin 970 processor with 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM variants.
For imaging duties, the Honor Play offers AI-integrated selfie camera of 16-megapixel, with support for 3D portrait lighting. On the back, the dual camera setup too boasts of Artificial Intelligence-support featuring 16-megapixel primary sensor a 2-megapixel secondary sensor.
The cameras on the Honor Play are said to auto-identify scene -- including 22 objects real time and 500+ scenarios in real time -- types and adjust the camera settings accordingly. The cameras also offer AI motion detection, EIS and the AI Image Stabilization functions.
Backed by a 3750mAh battery, the Honor Play includes 4G LTE, NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Miracast, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm Headset Jack and USB Type-C port.
