A beheaded body of a young man was found stuffed in a bag dumped at the bus stop near the gate of Sir Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College on Sunday at 8 am, police said.

According to officers, they received a Police Control Room (PCR) call informing them that a bag is lying at bus stop. “The black bag was detected by a passerby after he found blood oozing from it. He informed police,” said a police official.

Police said a male torso was found stuffed inside the bag and his both arms and head were missing. “There were no bullet or stab wounds on the body. The identity of the man — in his late twenties — could not be established till late Sunday as no document was found in the bag. The details have been uploaded on Zipnet to identify the person,” said Nupur Prasad, DCP (North).

“We are scanning the CCTV footage. It is believed the man was murdered somewhere else and his headless body was dumped there to mislead police,” said police.
