22-year-old daily wage earner ends life

PANCHKULA: A 22-year-old man committed suicide after hanging himself from a ceiling fan in Rajiv Colony on Sunday early morning.

The victim has been identified as Ravi, a daily wage earner. It was found that he had been living with his wife and parents in Rajiv Colony.

The victim’s family members told police that Ravi was addicted to alcohol, and had been distressed due to his ongoing divorce proceedings. It was alleged that he was in an inebriated state before committing suicide.

The family members informed police soon after they found Ravi’s body hanging from the ceiling fan in his room.

Cops took the victim to the civil hospital, Sector 6, where he was declared brought dead.

Police sources said, “We have registered a case of suicide. However, no suicide note has been recovered from the crim site. Body was handed over to the family members soon after the post-mortem examinations.”
